Handmade intarsia of a rearing bronco. Woods used are: Sassafrass, Spanish Cedar, Black Walnut, Reclaimed Poplar (over 100 years old), Ebony, Mahogany The horse is mounted on a slab of live edge Black Walnut. Intarsia is the process of using the NATURAL colors and grain patterns of wood to help create a finished picture. Each piece is hand cut, fitted and shaped. All pieces are then glued up and a backer is added. Woods used and the artist signature are on the back of the finished piece. Since no 2 boards of wood are the exactly the same, no 2 pieces of art will ever be the same, meaning every Intarsia is truly an original.
