Lena Postanowicz (EkklesiaCraft)
After over 30 years working in Washington, D.C., Lena retired in 2015 from her work in the Federal Government, and she and her family moved to Tennessee…and fell in love with Nashville! With an abundance of time on her hands, Lena renewed her love of crafting and the arts, and began EkklesiaCraft, a mixed media and paper crafting labor of her heart. She hopes to grow EkklesiaCraft into a community based brick and mortar venue where all women can come to play and receive the healing only “creating” can give. (While her dreams for EkklesiaCraft continue to evolve and grow, Lena donates 20 percent of her monthly sales to End Slavery TN, an organization determined to see the end of human trafficking in TN. Please visit their website, www.endslaverytn.org, for more information.)
Lena’s work is truly “mixed media,” building layer upon layer of unusual and antique papers, found objects, vintage ephemera, paint and watercolors. Her God-inspired works are beautiful home décor wall hangings filled with emotion and depth. She also creates magnificently collaged journals and cards using many of the same objects as her wall hangings.
Her passion is in the creative process and her reward is the peace she encounters while in her home studio in Spring Hill, TN…and the joy, encouragement and blessing she passes on to others through her creations.
