Kim Gann - KG Art Studio
I live in East Tennessee with my cat named Cotton and 2 Jack Russell's. I would have an entire farm if I had the time. I have 2 children who are both married and 2 grandchildren. I've been painting since my son was a year old and making, doodling and drawing my entire life. In 1986 I started painting wooden eggs with my son in the highchair next to me. My business name was Eggs Etc. I sold eggs as Christmas ornaments and Easter Eggs for years and in 1993 my daughter was in the highchair next to me.
I also painted small wooden crafts, gourds, driftwood and dried okra which were Santa's. These were sold all over Knoxville and Gatlinburg. In 2001 I opened my studio The Crafter's Canvas where I taught art to students between 4 and 94, but I never painted for myself. Then in 2009 after a brief break from painting I nailed 2 nails in my kitchen wall, hung a 24x36 canvas and Cuppa Joe of The Chicken Coop Series was born. I haven't stopped painting since. In 2011 I discovered Surtex and Licensing. I registered and had my first booth where I met many wonderful people.
I paint and create art by hand, then design my art in Photoshop. I have been painting for nearly 30 years, but creating art for....well, my entire life.
Painting is my passion and I love Collage. I'm inspired by nature and color, a walk through an art gallery, Disney and Pixar movies.
